Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, known as plain ol' “Bernie” among his backers, is known to create political sensations. The “Democratic Socialist” who has often packed meeting halls with nearly 400,000 people is on a mission to be the next Commander in Chief. He is not alone in that thought. The senator seems to have young voters secured in his back pocket because he is crushing it as new polls show at Apollo. Yep, you read that right.

Donald Trump. The Republican front runner whose campaign slogan is “ Make America Great Again” has tremendous appeal among Tea Party voters as he has promised to take an effective stance against immigration. Trump’s popularity seems to be inflating day in and day out but that is not the case here at Apollo. President Barack Obama on Wednesday fiercely defended his steady commitment to battling the Islamic State – A position he keeps finding himself in, this time because of a baseball game.
Which high school has the best cheering section? Go to St. Cloud Times and vote. It's literally that easy and - by the way - don't just vote; vote for Apollo!
A 2-0 defeat against Guatemala, ranked 95th in the world, would have been embarrassing enough for head coach Jurgen Klinsmann and his players.
The United States soccer team somehow now now finds itself wired in a patch of thorns, scratched and ripped apart by Guatemala on Friday night. The U.S. men's soccer is in danger of seeing its 2018 World Cup dream turn into a nightmare. "Nothing is a done deal," Tech activities director Andrea Swanberg said. "There's not a whole lot to say right now." Apollo head coach Pete Matanich and Tech head coach Joel Heitkamp have both expressed interest in coaching the team, though there hasn't been any official interview process. No decisions about coaches are expected to be discussed.
