NewsFeed Staff interviewed teachers to hear about their unexplained paranormal experiences. Here is an interview with Ms. Heerts, an Economics and U.S. History teacher, who suspects a Ouiji Board had something to do with a disaster in her dorm during her college years. Apollo NewsFeed: Do you believe in the paranormal?
Ms. Heerts: I guess I have to say yes because of my little experience. NewsFeed: What is your paranormal experience? Ms. Heerts: When I was in college I lived in the dorms with two other girls who owned a Ouiji Board. We would play with it and ask questions like "What room number are we in?" Then a friend would run out of the room to check if the Ouiji Board answered correctly. It was be right. One night I brought the board to my room. Another girl was there with me as well as my other roommate who was praying because she thought the Ouiji was the work of the Devil. One day after using the board two girls' room set on fire! They had to evacuate the entire building and when the firefighters looked at it they said it was an electrical problem. Their whole room and the entire hallway was completely black. I don't believe it was an electrical problem; I believe the Ouiji Board caused the fire. NewsFeed: How old were you? How did you feel after experiencing this unexplained phenomenon? Ms. Heerts: I'm going to guess I was maybe 19 years old. It made me scared of [the Ouiji Board] and I didn't want to mess around with it anymore. I didn't think it was fun and games...This was serious.
