BY JOSHUA KISE The Catholic Charities is asking for donations to feed the hungry. It all started years ago when a man told a story about helping his children and even helping him self. Catholic Charities, located at both the Pioneer Place (22 5th Ave. S) and St. Cloud Hyundai) has been doing this for five successful years of collecting donations of food and giving it to hungry people who really need it.
According to a representative of the organization, “One of the things we are really like [is that] all the donations and all the proceeds stay right in the community.” In fact, in 2014 people donated about 1.6 million pounds of food. On March 18, a new drive began and Catholic Charities hopes to continue feeding the deserving people who need the help. “That’s really important to all of us,” commented Barth, a Catholic Charities representative.
