BY: BERNADETTE ZORN Bernadette Zorn, Apollo NewsFeed editor, sought out Apollo Homecoming Queen Halima Aden to ask her some pertinent questions. Bernadette's questions are in bold, and Halima's answers are not.
How did it feel to win? I was really excited and shocked at the same time. Were you surprised that you won? Yeah because all the girls that got nominated were good candidates. What was your favorite part of homecoming? Getting nominated was my favorite part [of being in] Homecoming Court. What are you looking forward to for Senior year? Graduating and making memories. Is there anything you'd like to share with next year's upcoming nominees? Have fun and take lots of pictures and dress up for Homecoming Week! What are your plans after you graduate high school? I plan on going to college, but I haven't decided what I want to do with my life. Why do you think your peers nominated you for Homecoming Court? A lot of my Somali friends nominated me because a Somali student was never on Homecoming Court, and my Somali friends picked me because they thought I deserved it. How did you celebrate your win? I took a selfie and shared it on Instagram. That's pretty much it.
