A crash involving a possibly drunk driver left two people hurt. Benton County Sheriff Troy Heck says the crash happened shortly before 5:00 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Mayhew Lake Road Northeast and 15th Street Northeast. (AM 1240) Twenty-nine-year-old Benjamin Theisen of Sauk Rapids was driving his SUV westbound on 15th Street Northeast when he didn’t stop at the intersection of Mayhew Lake Road Northeast causing him to crash into a truck driven by 50-year-old Barbara Torres of Rice.
AM 1240, “Theisen had a passenger in his SUV, 28-year-old Brady Haugen of Sauk Rapids. Haugen was trapped in the SUV and the Sauk Rapids Fire Department pulled him out of the SUV using extraction tools.” Torres suffered from non-life threatening injuries both her and Haugen were taken to the St. Cloud Hospital and theisen who at first, fled the scene was later found near Industrial Blvd and was arrested for DUI always be as careful as you can possibly be especially when driving and in no situation, should you be driving under the influence because you can cause an extensive harm that will see you regret why you passed your licence test at the first place.
